Big Bend Falls

A 2 hr, 3.4 mile hike culminates at a roaring Falls with the largest drop on the Chattooga River of 30′.

Directions: N. of Walhalla on Hwy. 28 for 8 miles; right on Hwy. 107 for 10.4 miles; left (west) on Burrells Ford Rd. (FS 708, paved for first .3 miles); 3 miles to parking area on left. At south end of parking area, take Chattooga Trail (black blazes) and Foothills Trail (white blazes), as they run concurrent along this stretch of the river. At 2.5 miles, Big Bend Trail intersects; about .5 mile beyond you will hear the roar of the falls. There are several rugged paths that are steep and slippery. Use extreme caution.
